"Johnny, you are the easiest bassist I have ever played with! You know how to groove, and you locked in with me immediately, you are a rock-solid player"

- Tommy Stewart - Godsmack -

Hi there, thank you for stopping in and checking out my site, it's so awesome to have you here. I am a studio and live bassist living in Linden, Michigan. I have had the pleasure of working with some amazingly talented artist and friends, both in the studio and on stage over the years of my career.

I was born in Trenton, Michigan and lived in Dearborn, Michigan until I was 8 years old, then my parents moved us to Flint, Michigan for my father's work. I remember being in the backyard one day and hearing music from neighbor's house behind us. I was really liking what I was hearing, and my curiosity was getting the best of me I had to check it out. I was standing in front of the house listening and a man in the front yard asked if I wanted to go inside and listen to the band. I was blown away and hooked instantly. I remember my grandmother giving me my grandfather's acoustic guitar to practice on, I remember running home from school just to play it. After a while, once my parents saw how serious I was about playing they bought me a new beginner acoustic guitar for Christmas. After a few years of taking lessons, I was getting the hang of things and sounding pretty decent. By now I had several friends that played mostly guitar and drums but there was no bassist. around. I think you can see where I am going with this. I earned money shoveling snow, mowing lawns and other odd chores and saved up enough money to buy a bass and my parents chipped in and bought me a bass amp, and the rest is history as they say. I wouldn't have it any other way, I am absolutely in love with playing bass, I do my absolute best to learn something new every day. It might be a new groove, a new song, a slap technique or all of the above.

Over the years I have touched on many genres of music, jazz, blues, rock, funk, motown, I love it all. Some of my influences are, Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, Stanley Clarke, James Jamerson, Boz Burrell, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, John Entwistle, Chuck Rainey and Rocco Prestia just to name a few.

Over the years I have toured with some awesome artist and bands, Robert Penn, Charles David Stuart, Loth Lorien, Chris Canas, Rusty Wright Band, Wildfire, Argentucky Blues, Vinyl Tap, Bad Apples and more. I have also played with many local artists to fill in work. I have also shared the stage with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eddie Money, Bob Seger, Larry McCray, Brad Paisley & Kenny Chesney to name a few.
